Abstract
|

|
Objective : In Korea, the elderly population and the prevalence of diseases has increased rapidly. The purpose of this study is intended to be the basic data by analysis of the common diseases in elderly Koreans, and to establish and enforce a policy for the elderly.
Methods : From January, 2011 to December, 2011, we searched through The Korea National Statistical Office data. Common diseases were analyzed by the real patients, visit days, medical expenses, and 2010 year-on-year growth in Out Patient Department and admission.
Results : 1. Admission : Cataract and disorders of lens real patients, the most common. visit days, medical costs, and growth of real patients from 2010year was Dementia is the highest. 2. Out Patient Department : Essential Hypertension real patients and medical expenses are the highest. visit days is dorsopathies, and growth of real patients from 2010year was bronchitis is the highest.
Conclusion : This study clarifies the magnitude of the common diseases. we will need to expansion the basic data for the elderly policy formulation and enforcement.
